we have scorpions in the Salt Lake Valley! I've had two bug extermination companies tell that we don't but I have the proof. I've even tried to google information about scorpions here in the valley and haven't had luck finding anything. However, I found this little one in my family room, still alive. I was trying to vacuum up what I thought was a wood chip from my kid's shoes and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn't vacuum up. When I reached down to pick it up it started to move!
I would have thought it a fluke to find a scorpion in my house except I found one exactly like it last fall. Our house backs a large open space which is frequented by lots of wild life such as deer, fox, quail, snakes-all sorts of critters apparently including scorpions. (Bug guy's coming on Monday.)

Yikes! I would hate to find one of those in my house. You're going to keep it as proof for the bug guy, aren't you?
Makes my skin crawl! But you do have the mosts beautiful view of the valley where you live, so heck, I guess you have to sacrifice having bugs to get the view. Glad to here the bug guys coming on Monday though.
so gross! once when we live in AZ I didn't have my glasses on and I was looking for a rubber band for my hair and I reached down and picked up a live scorpian! it so freaked me out! Mike and my uncle would go out with black lights and catch them and kill them. you should try getting a black light, they glow....
