Fishing

The kids have been wanting to go fishing for a while now. Jay found a good deal on a couple of rods and we set out for an "urban fishing pond" near our home. Honestly, this pelican was the most memorable thing for the kids since the fish weren't biting at all and their rods needed constant fixing. The "good deal" for the poles wasn't as good as we had hoped so they are going back to the store. I think the kids had a good time despite them.

Here is where Jay set up shop and pretty much stayed the entire time.

Dad and Savannah came along too. Savannah preferred finding bugs and playing with a dead fish that had washed up on the banks to casting. She really has a talent for finding the strangest, coolest insects!

Collin seemed to have the patience for this activity which surprised me a lot. His rod was the one that caused us the most problems, too, but he stuck with it.

Sydney was pretty good at casting. She wasn't really interested in waiting for the fish to bite, however.

Savannah at the nearby park.

Jay, again, fixing the bait or line (or something).

Dont't take the poles back yet! We bought pole's for the boys for Lake Powell and they loved fishing! We were busy untangling them most of the time too but the boys stilled loved it. We'll have to take our kids sometime soon. Glad you were able to do something fun like this while Savannah was in town.
